Systémový lupus erythematosus (SLE) je komplexné ochorenie charakterizované polyklonovou aktiváciou B lymfocytov s výraznou rozmanitosťou v klinických prejavoch a priebehu ochorenia. Nové liečebné postupy by sa mali zamerať na zvýšenie efektívnosti terapie a zníženia rizika vzplanutia tohto ochorenia. Tento článok sumarizuje novšie liečebné postupy, ktoré boli použité u pacientov s SLE a tie, ktoré sú predmetom klinických štúdií.

New therapies in systemic lupus erythematosus
Summary
Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a complex disease characterised by polyclonal activation B lymphocytes with considerable heterogenecity in clinical manifestations and disease course. Novel therapeutic modalities for SLE should aim at enhancing treatment efficacy and reducing the risk of disease flares. This article summarizes the newer therapeutic modalities that have been used in patients with SLE and those which are undergoing clinical trials.
